Terms of Service
Last updated: March 24, 2026
Welcome to SendLetters. By using our service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use SendLetters.
1. What SendLetters Does
SendLetters is a letter-writing and mailing service. You compose a message (with optional AI-assisted drafting), and we print it on real paper and mail it via USPS to your designated recipient. We also offer a tool to write letters to your elected representatives based on your address.
2. AI-Assisted Drafting
SendLetters offers optional AI assistance to help you draft or polish your letters. The AI is a writing tool, not an author. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving the final content of every letter before it is printed and mailed. SendLetters is not liable for any AI-generated suggestions you choose to include.
3. No Guarantee of Delivery or Response
We print and mail your letter via USPS First Class. Once a letter enters the USPS mail stream, delivery timing and success are subject to USPS operations. We do not guarantee:
- A specific delivery date
- That USPS will successfully deliver your letter
- That any recipient (including elected officials) will read or respond to your letter
4. Prohibited Content
You may not use SendLetters to send letters containing:
- Threats of violence or harm
- Harassment, intimidation, or stalking
- Content that is illegal under federal or state law
- Impersonation of another person or entity
- Fraud, scams, or deceptive schemes
- Obscene material directed at minors
- Anything that violates USPS mailing regulations
We reserve the right to refuse to print and mail any letter that violates these rules, without refund.
5. Payments and Refunds
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By purchasing a letter, you agree to pay the listed price at the time of checkout. Pricing may change at any time, but changes will not affect orders already placed.
- Before printing: You may request a full refund at any time before your letter is printed.
- After printing/mailing: Once a letter has been printed and entered the mail stream, we cannot retrieve it and no refund will be issued.
6. Your Content
You own the content of your letters. By submitting a letter for printing, you grant SendLetters a limited license to process, print, and mail that content solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order. We do not claim ownership of your words.
7. Rate Limiting
To prevent abuse and protect the service, we enforce rate limits on letter submissions and API usage. If you exceed reasonable usage thresholds, your access may be temporarily or permanently restricted.
8. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these terms, send prohibited content, engage in abusive behavior, or use the service in a way that harms SendLetters or other users. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us.
9. Limitation of Liability
SendLetters is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- SendLetters is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the specific order in question
- We are not responsible for USPS delays, losses, or delivery failures
- We are not responsible for the consequences of any letter you choose to send
10. Service Availability
We strive to keep SendLetters available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service downtime.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of SendLetters after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of SendLetters shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
